Funny antedotes from this weekend.

You dropped your pocket:

On Sunday, CJ, LR, Steak and I traveled to Kramers Books in Dupont Circle. After a hot, loud and amusing brunch we ventured back across the circle towards our metro stop. Half way across the street on the opposite side of the circle, a (relatively normal-looking) man shouted to LR: "You dropped something!" His voice was so creepy, however, that no one believed he was telling the truth. After a moment of staring at the ground in search of the supposed dropped item I got fed up as I watched the counter tick closer and closer to zero. "Sir, what did she drop?" I demanded. The articulate gentlemen responded, "your pocket," in the most creepy voice imagineable. At this point I was completely flabergasted and didn't know how to respond. Before I knew it, as I ran across the street, I shouted, "Are you on drugs?!" for the entire world to hear.

Sunday afternoon, LR invited me, sister CJ, and Steak to visit her new apartment in Rosslyn. After a quick look around, LR offered to drive the four of us back to my place since it was so hot. We got in the elevator and LR proceeded to explain how close her parking spot was to the elevator and how lucky she was to have such a coveted spot. Steak (of course) challenged her, suggesting that she should direct him to the car while he closed his eyes in order to prove how accessible the parking space was to the elevator. As the elevator came to a stop Steak proceeded to close his eyes. He began walking out of the elevator, blind to the world, when LR, CJ, and I noticed a young man outside the door. Before we could say anything Steak began walking into this man, eyes closed, arms out like Frankenstein. This was when we noticed we weren't even in the garage yet. We were still on floor 4! The 3 of us girls burst out laughing as Steak realized what was going on. The elevator doors began to shut with us 3 still inside and the 2 guys trying to figure out what was happening outside. Between breathless giggles, we managed to re-open the doors, only to have them shut again after Steak got in, leaving our new friend to question, "Can I get in?" We finally got the doors opened a third time and our new confused friend entered our cramped elevator that included LR balled up on the floor in stitches. We tried to explain to him what had happened, but no one could get the words out between the laughs.

La Tasca: Round 2

This past Friday, Steak and I took my sister CJ to La Tasca in Clarendon. We had a wonderful meal and two pitchers of sangria (which I only had 1 glass of, because I had a bit too much to drink on Thursday night). We watched Flamenco dancers, which was nice, but not as nice as the half priced pitchers of sangria they have on Thursday nights. After dinner we walked home and stopped in Best Cellars on the way so CJ could make her first legal alcohol purchase. Happy 21st, sister!

PS: The picture quality doesn't seem to be as good as normal. I think it may be because I'm using a different computer (a much inferior computer) than we normally use to import and edit.

Royal Thai

The other day I came across a blog post about my good friend's family restaurant in Orlando! I have such fond memories of this restaurant because of the spring break I was stranded in Orlando due to a snow storm in NY. For the entire four days I was without a hotel reservation, LR's family housed me and fed me tons and tons of amazing Thai food. I was just so happy to find out other people enjoy the restaurant as much as I do!

Check out the post here.

Please enjoy this old photo of Steak's first visit to DC. LR was the first friend of mine he met!

Fun Weekend

We've already visited La Tasca, Clarendon Ballroom, Best Cellars, Giant, and McDonalds. We're currently at our apartment enjoying bacon, donut holes, homemade guacamole, veggie chips, and McDonalds frapps, all while watching the stressful World Cup game.

My sister is looking forward to a belated birthday celebration tonight at Lauriol Plaza and numerous bars "I don't like" in Georgetown.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and I hope no one is too disappointed with the USA's World Cup loss.

My Baby Sister is here!

My baby sister, CJ, is here for the weekend. I haven't seen her since January 3 when she left the United States to travel to Ireland. She's been back in the states for about a month now, but she's been occupied in Illinois. We're having a great time so far! She just turned 21 so we're celebrating accordingly. (wink...wink...)

In other news, we met a few of our followers in Clarendon tonight. They are the cutest couple with the cutest baby, Juliet. I hope you three have a wonderful weekend and maybe we'll meet again.

Finally! The wait is over!

Two weeks ago I ordered the EVO 4G from an online store but I was still waiting for them to get it in their inventory. That was just crazy! Today it was STILL Awaiting Inventory!

So on my way leaving work I decided to just give it a shot and call Best Buy... and they had a BUNCH in stock! I swung by right after work and made sure then called up the online store and canceled my order and in an hour I was out with a spankin' new EVO 4G!

First impressions... It's big; it's heavy, but I don't care. I'm a big enough dude so it's not bad at all. I don't even notice it anymore. The screen is huge! It's awesome. I'm waiting to upload a movie to it so I can put it through a test run now.

Since I use Google for my life (GMail, Google Calendar, Google Voice, Google Contacts, etc...) setting the phone up was so simple. I just logged in and it was done. All my contacts, their pictures, emails and phones... everything.

This was just in time, I was bored of my iPhone.

DC Week: TECH cocktail DC

Last Thursday night, Steak and I went to DC Week's TECH cocktail party at Lux Lounge in between Chinatown and Convention Center. We had a blast meeting fellow bloggers, digital experts and even a fellow GWU alum. We exchanged business cards, got a few new twitter follows and enjoyed two free drinks each!

There are so many savvy, young tech people in DC. It is amazing how much talent resides in this town. I'm so happy Steak and I were able to meet a handful of these talented individuals and I hope some of them keep in touch!

Jersey Girl

This weekend Steak drove me and 3 of my girlfriends to New Jersey (the shore, in fact) to celebrate my friend's graduation from GWU (she's the cutie on the far right). We enjoyed wine, beer, Italian catering, salt bagels, bacon, Wawa, and lots of laughs. We also endured some major snoring from the boys' side of the living room and some intense chain smokers. But we had great company, a walk on the beach, and a good amount of pool time. It was a fabulous 100 degree weekend celebrating MC's graduation and soon-to-be enrollment in BU law school. More photos to come!

DC Week: Tech Cocktail Preview

Steak and I had a wonderful time at DC Week's Tech Cocktail at Lux Lounge on New York Ave. We met a few wonderful people and stayed until the music stopped and the lights came on. We also swung by Busboys and Poets afterwards for some grub. More on both adventures later. Goodnight!

New Shoes

I almost forgot! I finally got my Steve Madden wedges!

Aren't they amazing?!

Taco Tuesday

Steak and I had a busy week last week and this week is shaping up to be just as hectic. Everything we've been doing has been very enjoyable though, so no complaints here. Tonight Steak and I met with the lovely Laura Rubinchuk, resident Arlington realtor and blogger. We met at our favorite place, Northside Social, and had a wonderful chat about real estate and blogging. I can't wait to begin working with her this winter!

Tomorrow night, Steak and I venture out to more DC Week events. Can't wait to share all the details with you. Tonight we are relaxing with homemade fish tacos and Last Comic Standing. What a hilarious show!

Pupatella Pizza

Steak and I had a very late night at the DC Week Opening Party on Friday night, so we needed some recovery time and food on Saturday. I've been wanting to try the new pizza place in Ballston, Pupatella Pizza. It certainly lived up to my expectations with its amazing homemade pizza, wine, and sandwiches. What I wasn't expecting was the chic modern decor that made the whole experience even more fun. This restaurant is a great place to have a casual dinner with friends and its super quick because the pizza only takes one minute to cook!

I can't wait to go again!
