Hilarious Video

This is a must see...

Disney Bound

My favorite place in the world is Walt Disney World. In fact, my entire family is obsessed. And this weekend I will be flying to Florida to meet my parents and my little sister to help mom and dad celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. I leave Sunday morning and I'll spend the first two days at Universal visiting the new Harry Potter land. Then on Tuesday we will be heading to the ocean to board the Walt Disney Cruise ship. We will be cruising to Nassau, Key West, and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.

Sadly, Steak isn't joining me on this trip, but lucky for you he will be in complete control of the blog while I'm gone. Enjoy!

Steak got majorly hit on at happy hour tonight by two different women while I was at my volunteer shift. You can officially call him Steak Stud.

I miss my best friend

Freshman year of college, way back in 2005, I met the most wonderful girl in the world. And she has been the best friend I could have ever asked for. We've lived together, laughed together, and cried together. And sadly after graduation she moved away. BUT she is moving back to DC next month for nursing school and I couldn't be more thrilled. I can't wait to have her near me again.

Farmers Market

The biggest regret I have this summer is not attending the Courthouse Farmers Market as much as I would have liked to. We've been out of town so many weekends that I haven't been able to stock up on fresh produce from local farmers every Saturday before noon. The only opportunity I had to go was when my parents were in town. I'm so glad I got to go. These flowers I found there made my day everyday.

Hope everyone has a very happy Wednesday!

The Epic Trip to the Hamptons

We set off on our long journey to the Hamptons on Thursday night after work. We met at our friend AF's apartment (the one who actually has the house in the Hamptons) at 7 p.m. and loaded up our cars w/ food, music and people. We took 3 cars up to New York, each completely full.

Due to unforeseen traffic and a trip to McDonalds (long story, I was starving) we didn't end up getting to AF's house until a little after 3 a.m. We all managed to stay up the entire car ride though, keeping Steak company so he wouldn't doze off at the wheel.

Once we arrived at the house we mapped out our sleeping arrangements, some of us in bedrooms, others of us on air mattresses in the common areas, and quickly went to bed.
Friday morning we woke up early to a light drizzling rain. We didn't care and were determined to go to the beach regardless of the weather. We actually spent a good hour or two enjoying the waves and the sand while the rain came down on us and then retreated back to AF's house for some amazing pool time in the gloomy weather.

All of my brave friends battling the waves in the cold ocean.
Me and my friend AL. We stayed on shore.

After our trip to the beach and our fun in AF's pool we all got cleaned up for dinner. We had done a little day drinking so we were in quite the goofy moods in the afternoon.

Me and most of my girl friends.

More girl pictures.

Me and Steak at the very end of Friday night.

On Saturday we woke up well rested, finally, and the sun was shining. We immediately left for the beach for several hours of fun in the sun and waves.
Many more of us ventured to the water on Saturday, because it was so much warmer.
Many cute beach pics with the girlfriends.

Steak and I had such a wonderful time this weekend with all of our friends. We are eternally grateful to AF and her family for allowing us to spend the weekend in their beautiful home in the Hamptons! Our weekend was also made great because we were reunited with three of our friends we had not seen in a long time. However, it was so sad to leave, not only because we had such a great time, but also because that was the last time I will see some of my very close girlfriends this summer because they are headed to law school.

What a great way to spend a weekend and bid farewell to such great friends! I will miss you all, but we will stay in touch and see each other very soon, I hope!

Beach Get-Away

As I mentioned in my last post, Steak and I ventured out to the beach on Sunday for post-anniversary fun. We went with two of our Illinois friends, the gorgeous KS and BS (no, not married... yet).

We stopped an hour into our drive at Annapolis, MD for breakfast at Pusser's (yea, I know what you're thinking). It was wonderful! We sat right on the waterfront and watched the boats go by, while we enjoyed great breakfast food. I tried crunchy french toast for the first time, which was toast dipped in egg whites and then dipped in corn flakes.

After breakfast we got back into the car and drove through town. Unfortunately, we were met with a bad accident when we got back on the highway, which delayed our journey by 45 minutes. It was especially scary because I was driving and I don't drive hardly at all!

Here I am driving for the first time in a VERY long time. I drove us all the way to Ocean City!

A few hours later we made it to Ocean City, MD and had one of the most relaxing days I've had all summer. I'm so happy we ended up going (I was hesitant, because it felt like a tight squeeze in our busy summer schedule). I really needed a beach day!

We enjoyed the boardwalk, clean facilities and glorious sandy beaches of this cute Maryland town. It was the ultimate day trip and I hope to go again before the summer comes to an end!

Steak and I would love to hear from you! Are you going to the beach this summer? What's your ideal vacation?

Time flies by: Steak and I have been together for 3 years

This weekend Steak and I celebrated 3 wonderful years together! Our anniversary is actually July 20th, but who wants to celebrate on a Tuesday?? I went all out for this anniversary, which included a rental from Rent the Runway!

Here is the Tibi romper I rented for Friday night:

And here is the Tibi dress I rented for Saturday night:

Yes, we went so all-out that we celebrated two nights in a row! Friday night we relived my middle school years and fulfilled my life-long dream of seeing The Offspring in concert. I'm so glad I got to see them but that will be the last concert I see for awhile. I'm not really the concert type.

Here is the only picture of The Offspring that I took (it was literally too hot to move my arm high enough to aim the camera):

And here I am with my $14 margarita that I HAD to have because I was sweating profusely and needed something to cool me down:

After the concert on Friday night (that ended in us getting soaking wet in the pouring down rain while we trekked to our car) we woke up early Saturday morning to go to Hatha yoga in Shirlington. It was a nice zen addition to the weekend. Then I metroed into the city to meet my wonderful hairdresser Patti to get fresh highlights for the big night. After my appointment Steak picked me up from the metro and we headed to Pentagon City's Nordstroms in search of an anniversary present for me. No luck, so Steak ordered me a Kindle! It comes tomorrow!!

Back at home I presented Steak with his gift:

I got him a custom made belt from the artist John Wye. He is wonderful and I found him two Valentine's Days ago when I bought one of his t-shirts for Steak.

After our little gift exchange we headed back into the city for dinner at Brasserie Beck. If you haven't gone, you must!

Steak got a very unique beer in a very unique glass:

Here are our amazing mussels that we split:

Here is Steak's amazingly tender veal:

Here is my fabulous seafood stew:

Dinner was amazing and I hope to go back to Brasserie Beck very soon, because I literally wanted to try everything on the menu.

After dinner we took a stroll down 11th St. and ended up at Michel Richard's restaurant, Central. We sat in the lounge and enjoyed dessert and cocktails.

We had the Michel Richard's chocolate bar, better known as the Kit Kat dessert. It was as fabulous as everyone says it is, but beware: it's VERY rich. I was so glad we split the dessert, since I don't think I could have finished it by myself. I paired the bar with a cocktail containing champagne, gin and cucumber, all of my favorite things.

It was such a great weekend! (We even went to the beach on Sunday with two of our friends. I will share pictures from that trip very soon.) Thank you Steak for making our anniversary so special. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

The Fish Market

Right after Legs and I got off the plane my parents took us to one of our favorite restaurants to go in the City of San Diego. The Fish Market is right by the water and has a great view and the day we landed had the best weather of the whole trip! So it really worked out. It was my first time seeing my parents since starting the blog too, so they were excited to get some pictures of their food too.
