This weekend Steak and I celebrated 3 wonderful years together! Our anniversary is actually July 20th, but who wants to celebrate on a Tuesday?? I went all out for this anniversary, which included a rental from Rent the Runway!
Here is the Tibi romper I rented for Friday night:
And here is the Tibi dress I rented for Saturday night:
Yes, we went so all-out that we celebrated two nights in a row! Friday night we relived my middle school years and fulfilled my life-long dream of seeing The Offspring in concert. I'm so glad I got to see them but that will be the last concert I see for awhile. I'm not really the concert type.
Here is the only picture of The Offspring that I took (it was literally too hot to move my arm high enough to aim the camera):
And here I am with my $14 margarita that I HAD to have because I was sweating profusely and needed something to cool me down:
After the concert on Friday night (that ended in us getting soaking wet in the pouring down rain while we trekked to our car) we woke up early Saturday morning to go to Hatha yoga in Shirlington. It was a nice zen addition to the weekend. Then I metroed into the city to meet my wonderful hairdresser Patti to get fresh highlights for the big night. After my appointment Steak picked me up from the metro and we headed to Pentagon City's Nordstroms in search of an anniversary present for me. No luck, so Steak ordered me a Kindle! It comes tomorrow!!
Back at home I presented Steak with his gift:
I got him a custom made belt from the artist John Wye. He is wonderful and I found him two Valentine's Days ago when I bought one of his t-shirts for Steak.
After our little gift exchange we headed back into the city for dinner at Brasserie Beck. If you haven't gone, you must!
Steak got a very unique beer in a very unique glass:
Here are our amazing mussels that we split:
Here is Steak's amazingly tender veal:
Here is my fabulous seafood stew:
Dinner was amazing and I hope to go back to Brasserie Beck very soon, because I literally wanted to try everything on the menu.
After dinner we took a stroll down 11th St. and ended up at Michel Richard's restaurant, Central. We sat in the lounge and enjoyed dessert and cocktails.
We had the Michel Richard's chocolate bar, better known as the Kit Kat dessert. It was as fabulous as everyone says it is, but beware: it's VERY rich. I was so glad we split the dessert, since I don't think I could have finished it by myself. I paired the bar with a cocktail containing champagne, gin and cucumber, all of my favorite things.
It was such a great weekend! (We even went to the beach on Sunday with two of our friends. I will share pictures from that trip very soon.) Thank you Steak for making our anniversary so special. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
