Birthday Dinner

Steak and I gave up going out to eat for Lent. Unfortunately, or fortunately as it would turn out, Steak's birthday fell during Lent this year. So we celebrated with a home-cooked meal. I made Steak a surf and turf inspired creation: filet mignon and seared sea scallops with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. Steak requested a banana flavored dessert, so I made a banana cream pie.

After dinner Steak opened his presents. This year I got him his favorite whiskey, which he explains is his equivalent of a designer handbag. Needless to say he was thrilled.
