Welcome, 2014!

Steak and I chose to fly home from San Diego on New Year's Eve. Flights are significantly cheaper and we get to be in our own home for the start of the new year. We made it back to our apartment just in time to see the San Francisco fireworks. It was really neat to see a big fireworks show over the Bay Bridge while cars honked and pedestrians played with noise makers. It felt like a community event.

New Year's Day started with a morning run along the Embarcadero and a walk (hobble) up the Telegraph Hill stairs. My husband and friend (who flew in from LA this morning) cheered me on every time I ran by the house. We celebrated the New Year with a trip to The Sycamore for brunch, a walk to Bi-Rite and Delores Park, and later, a walk through North Beach and dinner at Don Pisto's. My friend is in town for an interview and we are hoping she gets the job so she can move to San Francisco!
